Relive the wartime experience with the National Trust
Seventy years on from the outbreak of the Second World War on 3rd September, 1939, the National Trust has published a list of it's properties that played an important role in the war effort. Many historic houses and areas of coast and countryside now in the care of the National Trust offer a unique insight into work that was going on behind the scenes. "On The Buses" celebrates 40 years
If you remember TV's "On the Buses" with Stan, Jack, Blakey, the delightful Olive and her husband Arthur plus, of course, Mum - then jump on the Number 11 bus and make your way down memory lane to Elstree Film Studios on June 27th to join in the 40th year celebrations.
"On The Buses" began way back in 1969 with an episode called "The Early Shift". It was about the life of a driver and his conductor working on the No.11 bus that ran to the cemetery gates. They were employed by Luxton and District Bus Depot - and answerable to an Inspector who was the bain of their lives.

year, and is sung in English with an orchestra of 10 musicians.
