The Senior Citizens Party has roundly condemned the so-called "Sleaze Committee" (also known as the Members' Estimates Committee) as "asking poachers to investigate gamekeepers".
Trust and respect for MPs at rock bottom
Your article “Your chance to talk to Gordon Brown” has prompted me to put pen to paper - or finger to keyboard - on the subject of taxation, and in particular the tax on occupational pensions
What is the point in voting?
Mr Blair and our un-elected Prime Minister have, between them, ruined this country. Through losing control of immigration Mr Brown and New Labour have no idea of how many immigrants, legal or otherwise, are in this country.
Discrimination in the workplace
I have applied for numerous vacancies and have seven years experience in retail, even though I would need to work a minimum of 30 hours, I find that young people are employed, even college students after 4.00 p.m.
Council Tax - no changes for pensioners
Despite the screamingly obvious need for Council Tax changes for pensioners, it looks as though the government has ruled out any significant reforms for older people in the near future.
Why on earth should my pension affect my Carer's Allowance, Mr Brown?
I am writing in response to your suggestions for Gordon Brown. I draw attention to the payment of Carer’s Allowance, which is denied to many, many people carrying out the responsibilities of caring to sick relatives and the like.
Mr Brown - Council Tax and anti-Christian policies
What do YOU think about Gordon Brown's policies?
Here are some of the responses we've had so far..
Gordon Brown - a phoney and a hypocrite
You ask what are British values? I would say fair play, decency, honesty, compassion, common sense and a desire for justice in all circumstances. Unfortunately New Labour, including Gordon Brown have failed on all counts.

Why, please?
Could Gordon explain to me why council tax goes up twice the rate of inflation each year.Being a pensioner on a fixed income hits us hardest.

Older people and poverty
I belong to a generation older than Mr Brown and was born in 1944.
Many of the books refer to the aged poor and older people have tended to live in poverty.
There was a group of older people who pressurised the Liberals and David Lloyd George in particular into granting the first old age pensions. I realise that the Thatcher Government has kept the pension artificially low and it is not expected to increase dramatically. There are various moves to increase the basic pension, but so far our pleas have fallen on deaf ears.
I realise a lot of people are working past retiring age as many are told to defer claiming the state pension. There is to be a demonstration outside the Houses of Parliament on October 23rd, but I do not expect much to happen in the way of an increased State Pension. My parent’s generation lived through the Second World War and had to endure shortages and I realise many young people are not very interested.
Get our police back policing!
This wonderful country was once the envy of the world – not any more - bring back the police onto the streets to make Britain Great again.
