YOUR chance to design a bus for older people

A competition to design a London bus of the future that is fit for older people is firing the imaginations of would-be inventors in London and all over the globe. All ideas are welcome, with the emphasis on the imagination - not the technical side - so get designing NOW!

Then come along to a special information and skills sharing session organised by the London Older People’s Resource Facility in Partnership with the London Older People's Strategies Group (LOPSG).

The session will include a discussion of older people’s needs on London’s buses, agreement on key design elements, group work and a mock-up of the design to be submitted to the competition.

The session will take place from 2.30pm to 4.30pm, 16th September, Conference Room 9, City Hall, The Queen's Walk, More London, London

SE1 2AA.

But if you don't want to design a bus, you could try a Word Processing day for beginners in October instead. It will include:

getting started on your computer; basic functions on the keyboard and mouse; use of Microsoft Word for word processing; open, saving and closing files; changing font; cutting and pasting; adding bullet points and numbers; creating your own letterhead and automatic dating.

The day runs from11am to 4pm, 14th October, Conference Room 10, City Hall, The Queen's Walk, More London, London SE1 2AA.
