Take to the dance floor - and raise funds

Help the Aged is calling on everyone interested in dance to host their own dance event and help raise vital funds for disadvantaged older people in the UK and overseas.

Taking place between 27th September and 4th October, ‘Let’s Dance 2008’ is the Charity’s latest national fundraising event which will see people across the UK organising their own dance event.  Whether participants choose a traditional tea dance, an elegant waltz or a fiery tango, Let’s Dance is an enjoyable way to bring friends and family together for a good cause.

For those in need of some inspiration, there’s also the option for participants to learn a series of ballroom dance moves chosen by dancer and entertainer Lionel Blair for the Help the Aged Let’s Dance event.

Alternatively, existing dance groups can choose to donate the proceeds of one of their own dance events to the Charity.

Lionel Blair said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be supporting Help the Aged Let's Dance.  There's nothing that lifts the spirits more than music and dancing for those of us still young at heart.  I think the event is such a lovely idea to bring people of all ages together.  Please put your best foot forward and dance for Help the Aged - you really will be helping to make a difference to disadvantaged older people".

‘Let’s Dance,’ sponsored by Masternaut, is sure to get the nation’s feet tapping!  A free information pack is available which contains everything people need to know to host their own event, including  suggested music and Lionel Blairs’ favourite ballroom dance moves.
