Fantastic fashion show for Older Peoples' Week
- Wednesday, 10 October 2012
Last week London Borough of Redbridge celebrated UK Older Peoples' Week.
Various activities were held on different days such as a Relaxation Workshop, Short Mat Bowls, Walk on the Wild Side, Health and Wellbeing Fair, advice on personal safety issues and very valuable crime prevention advice.
Most interestingly was the Elderly Fashion Show which was held in Redbridge Central Library on Friday 5th October 2012.
This fashion show was jointly organised by the Age UK Ilford branch and the local authority.
It was first time my wife and I had attended an elderly fashion show in our lives. It was such a pleasant and a new experience.
All the elderly models were fully confident, very impressive and full of life to make every one happy there.
The organisers deserve congratulations for such a successful event.
The event was divided into three sessions. Firstly was Western way of dressing, second was Asian and African and the third was sports - memories of Olympics 2012 in Stratford, London.
Some of the models were even 80 and 90 plus! The Deputy Mayor of London Borough of Redbridge Cllr. Elaine Norman attended the function.
