TAEN creates a jobseekers survey to capture older people's views on unemployment

taen-final-logoTAEN’s area of interest focuses on people in mid and later life and the labour market. We recognise that there are specific problems and issues that older jobseekers face when looking for work.

Every day, we hear of these difficulties from the 50+ population. By carrying out this survey, we hope to capture their experience, in order to represent their views and concerns to Government, employers and the recruitment industry.

The survey has been produced in collaboration with Wendy Loretto, Professor of Organisational Behaviour at University of Edinburgh Business School. Wendy has been researching in the field of older age and employment for over a decade and is delighted to be involved with colleagues at TAEN in this important project. Further details of her work can be seen at: http://www.business-school.ed.ac.uk/about/people/64/Wendy/Loretto
