It is essential to us that our website is accessible to as many visitors as possible, regardless of any disability. To do this, we have worked hard to implement the Accessibility Guidelines set out by the World Wide Web Consortium. Below you will find advice on how to make the most of the website using integrated features and those of your browser.
Screen resolution
The website has been designed to appear best on a monitor with a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels or above.
Visual appearance
Fonts, text sizes and colour are set with the use of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). If you have your own preferred stylesheet, those of the website can be overridden by configuring your browser settings appropriately.
If using Microsoft Internet Explorer browser for PC
- Select 'Tools' then 'Internet Options' from the menu bar
- Under the 'General tab', select 'Accessibility' to set preferences to your stylesheet
If using Safari for Apple Mac
- Select 'Preferences' from the 'Safari' menu
- Select the 'Advanced' tab, and alter the 'Style Sheet' property
Increasing or decreasing text size
Some visitors may find it necessary to increase or decrease the size of the text appearing on screen. There are several options for doing this.
- Text resizing tool
At the top right of the website is the text resizing tool. The text can be resized by clicking on the 'larger' or 'smaller' icons - Text resizing using keys
Text size can be increased or decreased using a combination of keys. - PC users can press and hold the 'Ctrl' key and use the '+' or '-' keys to alter the font size up or down
- Mac users can press and hold the 'Cmd' key and use the '+' or '-' keys to alter the font size up or down
Resizing using browsers
- Microsoft Internet Explorer
Select 'View', then 'Text Size'. This will allow users to select from five text sizes, ranging from 'Smallest' to 'Biggest' - Mozilla Firefox
Select 'View', then 'Text Size'. This will allow users to increase or decrease the text size on the page in single increments
